The Syneron ELOS technology Hair Removal
The Syneron ELOS technology, which uses two different energy sources (optical and radio frequency) to remove unwanted hair. ELOS stands for electro-optical-synergy; this refers to the combination of bipolar radio frequency (RF) current and optical pulsed light (IPL) energy. By combining both light and radio frequency energy, the ELOS system thermally damages the hair follicle, making this technology the safest hair removal system available.

How Does Laser Hair Removal Work?
The hair pigment absorbs the optical laser and radio frequency energies, converting these energies into heat that permanently destroys or injures the hair follicle, thus making it unable to continue to grow hair. Because not all hair is in the growing phase at the same time, a series of treatments is necessary to achieve long-term hair reduction. Laser treatments are repeated every four to six weeks.
Does The ELOS Plus Work On Tanned Or Different Skin Colours?
Laser hair removal in dark skin was once a risky procedure. The ELOS Plus Diode laser system has revolutionized laser hair removal by allowing lesser energies to combine at the hair follicle to remove the hair. This laser has been uniquely designed to protect the skin during treatment while still achieving hair removal results.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
The number of laser hair removal treatments depends on the area treated, hair type and previous hair removal methods. Typically, 6 treatments are required, although patients with lighter hair may require more treatments. An inadequate number of treatments will result in a lower rate of effectiveness; therefore, adhering to a schedule is necessary.
How Soon Should I Expect Results?
You should begin to see results 3-4 weeks after the first session. You may notice patchy hair growth, and many of the hair will begin to fall out. While many patients see great results after the first session, it still takes 6 treatments to obtain the results you desire.
You will need to wait an average of two months between sessions to allow the next hair cycle to grow in. If the hair has not grown in, there will be no effect.
How Should I Prepare For A Laser Hair Removal Treatment?
For the most effective treatment, ensure that the areas to be treated have not been waxed, tweezed, or bleached. On the day of your treatment, be sure to shave the area before your office visit. (Please shave the area 24 - 48hrs before your treatment. Hair should be 0.5mm - 1mm on the surface of the skin. Please be careful if your hair is more than 2mm as it can be more painful and may cause treatment to not work properly.)
